To foster competition and provide club members with qualified judging feedback, QUAFF holds a series of Club Only Competitions (“COC”) annually. QUAFF COC’s are free to enter for dues-paid club members. The first, second, and third place winners of each COC are recognized at the monthly general QUAFF meeting following that COC, and all entrants earn points in the race for the coveted title of QUAFF Homebrewer of the Year and QUAFF Rising Star. The following points structure is used:
Homebrewer of the Year: <click here for standings>

-

Rules and Procedures:
-
- Club Only Competitions are only open to current, dues-paid QUAFF members.
- Entries must not be brewed on a professional system.
- To ensure that a fresh sample is available for Best of Show judging, two (2) bottles are required per entry.
- All entries must be registered for the competition and dropped off by the entry deadlines listed above.
- All entries must be unique, meaning that a given beverage may not be entered more than once in that same subcategory (even if by a co-brewer).
- Each club member may submit up to 3 entries per competition. Entries on which a club member is identified as a co-brewer do not count against this limit.
- Where an entry is submitted on behalf of multiple club members, all entrants (including co-brewers) will be awarded all points awarded for that entry towards the standings for QUAFF Homebrewer of the Year and/or the Rising Star Award
- If co-brewed entries result in a club member being named on more than 3 entries, only the 3 highest-scoring of those entries will count for points towards that club member’s standing in the race for QUAFF Homebrewer of the Year and/or the Rising Star Award
- No club member may enter more than 1 entry (including co-brewed entries) in the same style (i.e., within the same sub-category) in the same competition. For the I Mead It My Way competition, club members may enter up to 3 entries as long as they are distinct from one another.
- Failure to comply with these rules and procedures may result in disqualification from the competition.
- Each entry will receive back at least two completed scoresheets via email. Short-form scoresheets may be used to expedite judging.
- Results will generally be announced at the next monthly QUAFF general meeting following the entry deadline, after which results will be sent to the QUAFF email list.
